Today was a tiring day

Sandino, Friday the 26th of June, 2009
Stardate 3

I wanted to sleep the entire time. But I never did. So now I am tired. I have managed to install Warhammer 40.000 on my piece of shit laptop so now I can entertain myself for a little while instead of studying. This way I can utilize my laptop to the max before my processor burns down or before I get another critical system failure.

On a sidenote. today I accompanied Jenny, my belizean friend, to the bank so she could get out money for her ticket. As a sign of rebellion, she has decided that she wants to fly back home via Cancun, and take the bus from there towards Belmopan. I think its a great idea, but not so great after all since earlier this year they like robbed a bus and raped all the women. This was a bus coming from Guatemala City into Belize, in Linea Dorada which is supposedly the safest way to travel in between Guate and Belize. Whatever happened to the armed guards on the bus? I guess its true, Guatemala, gente mala!

Anyway, after getting the money out we went to eat some fried chicken (swimming in oil, courtesy of El Rapido *trademark reserved*) at El Rapido. Its like the cuban version of KFC mixed with BK. IT has a plethora of ham and cheese sandwiches, hotdogs are available seasonally and also a whole variety of cheese pizzas. They mostly have ham, chorizo or tuna toppings. yes, it really is nasty. But I just got fried chicken (unseasoned, and then dunked into hot oil) and a beer. After two years in Cuba, El Rapido is as good as it gets in my part of the island. Its pretty far from Havana, which is the closest thing we have to civilization around here.
Anyway, we got back to school, and in the last 5 minutes we got hosed down by the possibly developing tropical depression in the northern caribbean sea. It has a 30 to 50 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression, and considering that I live in western Cuba, its wonderful news! photoshoot!

sorry, I just needed a 5 minute interlude. I heard Madonna's Get Together and I just had to sing and dance.

Oh yeah, my condolences to seƱor Jacksons family. Terrible loss, a hole in human culture has been left. Its a pity really, wasn't he about to perform in the O2 in London in two weeks?
